Matarki Celebration

This is our manu tukutuku

Matariki is the Maori celebration for their New Year.   It is special to them because that's the day when  the star of matariki is out . And  that’s is the sign for the maori new year.  

On Monday this week we have been manu tukutuku, which is making a kite.  Room 10 went to go get toetoe across the road, first thing we have to do was a karakia , which is a sign of respect and tikanga . So after our karkia  mis hills our  teacher cut downs  the  toetoe one  at a time from different bushies   

Me and my buddy  Mya  have been working on this manu tukutuku for 3 days to make this work . the hard part was weaving the wool on to the  Raupō on the sides because I couldn't weav so Mya  asked if  you wanted to which side and i said yes

The materials that we use  were wool, toetoe , hot glue gun  and Roupō. The math that we have to  do was 3 erd of a 120  so we  divided by it and we  did 3 divided 12 was 4 so we put the 0 of the 20 and that's how we got to 40 we have to do threads of a 120 and that's is 40 .

My most favourite part was when the salesman poured the L&P into the cup  and it fizzed up like a volcano, and it looked like a banana smoothy.

I loved  it so much is was cool I won’t to see you’s again it will unbelieveable to see you.

 STAY ALIVE      (By  Joseph Monninger  ) 
what the book is about .

The book is about a group of kids on a field trip to the coastal islands  of Maine are abandoned after an earthquake hits the fort they are studying collapses with them trapped inside . All of the supplies are on the other side of that fallen wall.  How long can they survive there? Will anyone come rescue them ?.


                     
                 Justice league bizarro league


  IT's about what happens when the justice league meets the bizarro league a team of the opposite  versions of themselves?  their world gets turend upside down ! but whether they like it or not the justlice league will have to team up with their  hilariously clumsy counterparts to defeat darkseid in this all-new ,action-packed adventuren!                     

Instruction to weave

Equipment:  

• pen/pencil
• Scissors
• Paper
• Sellotape
• Ruler

                   Instructions

1. Gather all of your equipment so are you ready to start .
   
2. Measure 10 strip pieces  of paper and 1 cm wide and 30 cm long.
   
3. Cut out 10 strips of paper .
   
4. Place 5 strips on the mat next to each other about  2 cm  width apart .
   
5. Grab the straps and weave it through the straps  on the mat
   
6. Repeat  step 5  using the 4 strips remaining  
   
7. Once step 6  completed carefully push the strips closer together until they meet and
   the inside mack a square.
   
8. Sellotape each corner  to help keep the straps in place .
   

9. To make the side of the box fold the outside strap back over the base . ( To keep the inside straight fold the strips using the  line of the base  as you guide .
   
10. Cut out four strips that are 24 cm  long 1cm wide .
    
11. Take one  strips and fold it into 4 quarters . (To give it four corners)  
    
12. With the same strips weave it through the 4 sides .( Keep it tight )
    
13. Sellotape each corner to keep the strips in place.
    
14. Repeat step 12 and 13 for the 3 remaining  strips .

To finish  the box make sure you fold any strips sticking up and tape it down.

this is my  whanugataga this is my family the Big ones are my mum ,dad the big one in the koru  that is my sister  the other one is me the cool one the tow top one are my other brother and sister the two other ones down the botom is my  little  brother and sister o wood name them for you the  oldest is Tira , Manaia,me Eraia , Itaria ,  Karouria , Henare ,Talia-rei so that is my sisters and my brother .The big ones is mum and dad there names are ra and dianne . Thats is my whanugataga

 this is my mihi it's represent my family and where i am from  and what river i and from,and mountain .  And there are teacher my teacher is miss hills shes the one that cut our face straight  in half now i have to draw  the other side of my face the .White is just design are for to cover the empty   black spaces .

Identity is all about who you are and what you can do. And where  you are from and ,what culture is all about , and it's whanaungatanga  and manaakitanga  as well manaakitanga is all about hospitality and perseverance and not giving up on your self .  Now for whanaungatanga .Whanaungatanga means your mihi and  family , friends and other people in the world .
